Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Hayes Valley, San Francisco

I am glad you are here.

Folks often ask me, “what types of patients do you specialize in?” My response is usually something like, “I work with people.”

I am a Licensed Psychologist with over a decade of experience working with people who are living in and through this world and hungry to make meaning from it all; getting curious about themselves and their relationships along the way. I do so from an affirmative stance celebrating human difference and working to name and fight racial injustice and other forms of discrimination.

I provide individual, couple, and family psychotherapy and am currently offering hybrid flexibility, in-person and remote, from my office in Hayes Valley.

About

I have worked in private practice for several years. Prior to opening my own practice, I trained at Stanford University and University of Chicago where I provided psychotherapy to graduate and undergraduate students. I have presented nationally on topics related to clinical work within the LGBTQ+ community. While much of my experience has been centered on work within the queer community, I strive to create an open and affirmative space for all.

I am particularly effective working with adults, young adults, and adolescents. I feel uniquely capable in addressing issues surrounding identity, work, school and relationships.

My Approach

Meaningful relationships are an essential part of fulfillment and happiness. I believe in the unique power of the relationship that develops between therapist and client. Through an exploration of this interaction, we can more wholly understand your past and current relationships and help shape future experiences.

I practice from a relational, modern psychodynamic lens with people who feel stuck in patterns and wish to experience greater choice and freedom. This type of work can be challenging as those dynamics and patterns are there for a reason, but I aim to approach the journey with warmth, a nonjudgmental spirit, and some good ol’ humor. I view my opportunity to join individuals on their path toward self-understanding as a great privilege and find the work exciting!

I can provide you with a “superbill” on a monthly basis that you submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement. Contact your insurance company and ask about your “out-of-network behavioral health reimbursement benefit.”

If you have an HSA or FSA account, you can pay for therapy out of your pre-tax income. I will work with you and your insurance company to help minimize your out-of-pocket costs.
